Community Involvement

Our involvement in the community is extensive. However, a short list includes the following: Lynbrook Youth athletic Assn., Lynbrook Independent Party, Lynbrook Elks Club, Our Lady of Peace Church, St. Raymond's Church, Lynbrook Chamber of Commerce, Lynbrook H.S. Mom & Dad Club, Frank J. Becker Academic scholarship, and many other volunteer programs.

As part of its stewardship, the Becker family also has a long history of government service. Frank J. Becker served in the New York State Assembly and then in the United States House of Representatives during the 1950’s and 1960’s. His son Francis X. Becker was Mayor of Lynbrook, and a New York State Supreme Court Judge during the 1950’s through the 1980’s. Gregory R. Becker served in the New York State Assemble from during the 1980’s through the 1990’s, and Francis X. Becker, Jr. is currently a member of the Nassau County Legislature. These are just a few of the many activities of the Becker family, and the list is constantly changing as the family continues to grow.

The Becker family has been in the insurance and real estate brokerage businesses for 5 generations. In 1991 Hilary H. Becker decided it was time to focus all of his energies on the real estate aspect of the family business and created Becker Real Estate Services, Inc. The firm is a full service real estate and investment company located in Lynbrook that provides appraisal, brokerage, management and mortgage services in the greater New York area.

A graduate of Pace University where he majored in Public Accounting, Mr. Becker attributes his success partly from the professional training he received in the investment banking industry. Before starting up Becker Real Estate Services, he was an Assistant Vice President for J.P. Morgan Investment Management Inc. where he was responsible for the management of a $150 million real estate portfolio.

Mr. Becker holds numerous positions with trade associations including President of the Long Island Board of Realtors Appraisal Division, and Past-President of the Institute of Real Estate Management’s Greater New York Chapter. Mr. Becker is an Adjunct Professor at Long Island University School of Continuing Education, and Molloy College where he teaches the licensing classes for real estate sales and appraisals.

A native of Lynbrook, Mr. Becker contributes a great deal of his time, talents, and financial resources to numerous community activities. He is President of the Lynbrook Youth Athletic Association, Head Coach of the youth wrestling program, Head Coach of a Girls Self Defense Program, past member of Catholic Charities Real Estate Committee, Vice Chairperson for Franklin Hospital Mecial Center Advisory Board, and Chairperson of the St. Raymond’s Stewardship Committee. However, what brings Mr. Becker his greatest joy is his wife Geralyn of 15 years, daughter Noelle, and sons Joseph, David, and Thomas.
